Cultural Centre built with clay, straw and plastic beer crates in Slovakia

A few years ago our good friends from Zilina in Slovakia showed us a really interesting straw bale building. The unusual thing about it is that it was build not only with straw and clay but also with plastic beer crates. The building is used as a theatre and cultural centre and it's called S2 Stanica Žilina-Záriečie. It was created in 2009 by 120 volunteers and Tom Rijven was leading the clay plastering works. To build the centre a 800 straw bales and three thousand beer crated were used. Here you can watch the documentary video of building S2. Great initiative, great idea, guys from S2 have done a really good job :)
